Long Overdue Update

With 57 days to go till our wedding, the time feels very short. My cousin told me months ago that at some point everything would feel like it was 'falling into place.' I was highly skeptical of this. The thing is, as soon as the invitations went out, it really did start to feel that way... finally. ^_^

We've had a lot of non-wedding drama in the last couple of months. It is good to know that through it all i have the best partner-in-crime a girl could ever hope for. Philip keeps me sane (ish haha) and reminds me to breathe. He leans on me when i can help, and reminds me to lean on him when i need his help. He twirls me around the kitchen to our first-dance song, and together we laugh and cry and make happen what needs to happen to make this all work.

Some of what is done:

  • Invitations!!
  • We finally have all of our vendors from cake to flowers - woot!
  • Card box assembled and painted
  • digital copies of table cards, guestbook pages, signage, etc
  • guestbook purchased and decorated
  • veil assembled and beaded
  • Bridal shoes purchased (yay payless bogo)
  • Philip's suit ordered and measurements taken
  • We've had our ceremony written out and completed for some time now and are happy that we have found someone special to officiate for us
  • Chuppah done (our part anyway) and at Pmom's ready to be decorated
  • cake topper
  • favor components purchased
  • rings purchased, ringbox/pillow done
  • honeymoon booked

What is left to do:

  • The dried flowers i ordered for the boutonnieres and corsages arrived yesterday, so i'll be heading up to mom's in the morning to assemble them.
  • Finishing up the hem on the dress - takes a bit longer when you drape your own
  • assemble table decorations (waiting another couple of weeks to keep the dust away as long as possible)
  • print out table cards, guestbook pages, etc
  • finish getting all the music moved into appropriate playlists and transferred to the ipod that has so generously been loaned to us
  • still waffling on what to do with my hair - less a matter of 'what' and more a matter of time and stress for the morning of the wedding
  • confirm food with ChefBob
  • assemble favors (waiting till we have a few more RSVP's back)
  • shopping/ sewing for honeymoon
  • food research for honeymoon - key west is supposed to have some very gluten-free friendly food establishments
  • Rehearsal dress - i've had the pattern for it since before i knew what i wanted to do for my wedding dress. i have, however resigned myself to the reality that if i run out of time i must be happy wearing something i already own. i will. but i still like the dress i have picked out if i have time to make it. :)
  • finish the ketubah - mostly done just have to finish the Hebrew text portion - waiting till a day when i'm not so shaky.
  • Fix the day-of schedule so that it functions and everybody is happy (Photographer wants to make changes)
  • a few other details that would be nice but not necessary
